What is the purpose of a company?  For many years it was only creating profits for shareholders.  Then the rise of social responsibility added priorities ranging from ethics to the environment.  We are now entering a third wave in which profit and purpose are fused together. Learn from leaders on how to do well and do good, motivating employees, engaging customers, and serving communities.

 

SESSION 2: CHARTING A NEW COURSE

What happens when better isn’t enough?  When you need to do something different?  In these times of disruption and transformation, we need to foster discontinuous improvement. But charting a new course can be uncomfortable. It can seem safer to cling to a fading past then embrace an unfamiliar future.  Discover how innovators are mobilizing change, connecting resources, and creating possibilities as they take their companies in new directions.

SESSION 3: SUSTAINING MOMENTUM

We all want growth and change, but they come with their own challenges. In some cases, the initial burst of energy can be followed by familiarity or even complacency.  The challenge is how to keep that initial sense of urgency and enthusiasm.  In other cases, the growth keeps going, and the challenge is how to not get burned out or distracted by opportunities.  Find out what companies are doing to keep momentum going when it falters and to make it sustainable when there is no end in sight.

 

WORKSHOP: EMPOWERING PEOPLE

There always seems to be a tradeoff between alignment and autonomy.  If we tell people what to do, we lose agility and hinder development.  If we delegate too broadly, we lose focus and hinder performance. Fortunately, there is a way to empower people in a way that synchronizes action without centralizing authority.  I this engaging workshop, learn how to shift your culture and evolve your leadership by designing decision principles that fulfill on a shared purpose.
